Unit1 Post Write
My summary / rhetorical analysis essay was about Zombies viewed in culture today and basically how far they've come entertainment wise for our society. The article first talks about the entertainment aspect of things and how many movies and tv series were produced off of this topic. It seems to me like our culture will never be tired of hearing about an zombie apocalypse. Almost as if some of us fantasizes about the "what if'" of it all happening when we all know it's completely fictional. However, the government has used this topic as a gated window to speak out about certain things such as health awareness and gun laws. Two very big topics that should be discussed. So why use zombies as a lead to get our attention, because it simply worked. I felt this article that was about 25-27 pages long kept my attention a lot more than the others. I would have to say that the most difficult part of this paper was the rhetorical analysis part. On the day we had our drafts with peer editing I didn't even have that in my paper. So I'm glad I was able to go back and kinda redo my paper because I also knew i didn't do too hot on it. Its very important to summarize an article or essay or anything so that we understand the main concept of the content of what one is reading. When I knew exactly what I was doing was probably after class that day with the feed back from Darr and the peer editing was very helpful as well. I valued the instructors option of my paper the most because of course he's going to be giving me my grade and I wanted a good one at that. However, I felt it was very helpful to read others papers in my peer editing group because its always a good way to see what direction everyone else is going with the same topic that you have as well. Strength of my paper had to be for one my intro and my main points. The length could be improved along with the main body and conclusion as well. How the instructor could help me the most with feed back would just be by telling me if I did well on capturing the main idea of this whole paper. Also point out my weaknesses because thats always a good thing to know as well.
