World War Z- part 4

Chapter 7
Chapter 7 begins with the interviewer meeting with David Allen Forbes. This interview consists of a discussion between castles and palaces. The readers learn that castles are much more safer than palaces as they talk about incidents from the past. He then meets with Barati Palshigar. Barati believes that the main enemy for this war isn’t the zombies but is ignorance. She talks about the psychological approach to this war, that we normally dehumanize our enemy-but in this case we have to remind ourselves that our enemy is dead to begin with. The author then goes to South Korea, and speaks with Hynghol Choi. He believes that North Korea is the most prepared for this zombie war due to the way they are raised.
The next place he goes is Japan to speak with Kondo Tatsumi. He tells him about his encounter with the zombies as he and his cyber friends try to find out information about zombies. He finds himself in a situation with a zombie and tells him about his detailed escape. For the next interview, the author stays in the same place but speaks to Sensei Tomonaga Ijiro. He tells him about his plan to commit suicide but isn’t successful so he becomes a zombie hunter. The next place he goes is Cuba. Cuba is the most successful in evading the zombie war due to their location. They helped the refugees out a lot. The author then travels to China where he learns about their plan and that they believe that they are most equipped to survive this zombie war. If any country will survive it will be China due to their large numbers. The next person the author talks to is Terry Knox. He tells the author about his situation with the zombie war. The last place the author goes to is Chile and he speaks to Ernesto Olguin who tells him about the zombie conference that is held and what all was discussed there. The decision was to attack the zombies.

The interview that I thought was the most interesting was the one with Barati. She believes that the main enemy for the war is our own human flaws and not the actual zombies. I think this is interesting because she is the only person so far that has seen that we are to blame for this war and that this war has nothing to do with zombies. I think this interview is foreshadowing as I think the author will expand on her belief of the war.
