Chapter 7-Around the World, And Above

Around the World, and above begins with an interview of David Allen Forbes. The interview consists of talks about castles and palaces later on finding out that castles are much more safer than palaces as they talk about the past. The Interviewer later meets Barati Palshigar. He tells the Interviewer that zombies weren't mankind's greatest enemy, that ignorance was. He later tells us how in a traditional war, you dehumanize the enemy to get people to hate them. But in this case, they had to remember people that the enemy was already dead and wasn't human at all. The Interviewer goes to South Korea and meets with Hynghol Choi. He tells the interviewer that he believes North Korea was the best prepared to fight off zombie invasion than any other country due to the way they are raised.
Next he went to Japan to talk to Kondo Tatsumi. He tells the interviewer about how he and his cyber friends went online to find out all information about the undead. He also tells him about his escape when he confronted by a zombie. In the same location, he later interviews Sensei Tomonaga Ijiro. He tells him about how he considered suicide a number of times but couldn't go through with it. So he became a zombie hunter. The next location he went to was Cuba. Cuba didn't really fight off the undead due to their location. They did help a lot of refugees especially U.S refugees. The next location he travels to is China, they believed they were the best equipped due to their large population and they could outnumber the zombies. The next interview took place in Australia, he interviewed Terry Knox. He talked about how he witnessed the zombie war from space. The last interview was in Chile and he speaks to Ernesto Olguin. He tells him about the zombie conference about survival techniques and war. The final decision they decided in the conference was to attack the zombies.

The chapter is overall important to the plot of the book because it explains how all these countries handled the zombie invasion. It is important because it explains which counties were better equipped to handle the zombie apocalypse versus other ones. I liked this chapter because it was interesting to see how the countries and society would handle the situation. It seemed really realistic to me how each country would take care of the zombie war. The discussions it will bring up are what countries will be better equipped and the location of the countries will be important as well. Also how more populated countries will be at an advantage and disadvantage at the same time.
