Section
5 of World War Z
In
the last section of World War Z I found the chapter Ainsworth, Nebraska, USA the most interesting. In every other
adaptation of a Zombie apocalypse the domestic animals are forgotten or a side
show to the main story. I liked how the author featured them. They became a
little wilder but a good number still remained man’s best friend fending off
and killing the undead for their masters. Breeding the dogs for their specific tasks
and ability’s became more key than having a pure breed. The fact that the interviewee’s
old dog still stuck by his side helped to highlight the optimism of the end of
the war against the undead, that some aspects of humanity were not changed by
such a disaster.
This
part of the story is important because it helps to highlight some of the good
and the interspecies partnerships that taught each how to better win the war as
well as create hope and unity to motivate everyone to fight on.
